Emerald Star Program
Emerald Star is a County star rank and is designed for youth who are interested in project planning, leadership, organization and presentation beyond the club level. Good candidates are intermediate and senior level youth who are interested in taking their expertise in these skill sets to the next level.
Emerald Star can be a 1-year or 2-year project. Working with the Adviser and the Emerald Star Committee the applicant will choose an activity then plan and organize the goals, tasks and timelines to achieve it. Emerald Star focuses on communication, collaboration and documentation; progress checks with the Adviser and presentations to the Committee and to County Council facilitate the candidate's growth and expertise in these areas. At end-of-year the candidate presents the results of their project to the Adviser and Committee, who will award the Emerald Star if the if the project has been completed as described in the information packet attached to the right. As with all 4-H projects, reflection and review of the project and feedback from the Adviser and Committee will help the candidate recognize strengths and ideas and opportunities for areas where they may gain more expertise.
Interested candidates may review the Emerald Star links on this page for further information and to apply for the Emerald Star rank.
For the 2018-2019 year, candidates must turn in their applications by November 20, 2018. The committee interviews will take place on December 3, 2018 at 6PM at the UCCE Office.
