Scholarships

There are many scholarship opportunities available to 4-H members!  These include financial assistance for attending 4-H events and conferences, for recognition of outstanding members, and for higher education.  The table below summarizes the scholarships available at the Contra Costa County, North Central Section, California State and National 4-H levels.

4-H Event / Conference Scholarship

County Council will pay up to 50% of event / conference fees for those members requesting financial assistance.

Due Date: submit application to County 4-H Council Secretary at least 2 weeks before the event


 

Tammi Brazil Memorial Scholarship

This annual $500.00 scholarship and trophy belt buckle is awarded to an outstanding 4-H member in good standing who is:

  1. between 15 and 19 years old
  2. currently enrolled in a Horse Project and showed at County Fair
  3. has been an Officer, Teen Leader or Committee Leader

Joel Hanson Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this $250 scholarship is to award a 4-H member from age 9 to 19, that demonstrates the attributes that made Joel such an exceptional young man.  

Nomination Process
Due Date: Nominees are submitted by each club, recipient is announced at Achievement Night.


 

Randy Stacy Memorial Scholarship

The Randy Stacy Memorial Scholarship was created by the Stacy Family in memory of their son, Randy Stacy, an outstanding 4-H youth who excelled in both leadership and the mentoring of younger 4-H members.

AMOUNT: $2,000.00 is available each year to be awarded to one or more applicants.

WHO CAN APPLY:

Senior students in the Antioch or Liberty High School Districts who are current 4-H member in good standing and planning to attend a vocational school, community college or university after completing high school.

Joanne Ward Scholarship

This $500 scholarship is given in memory of Joanne Ward, a long time 4-H volunteer from Sacramento County. She was a dedicated leader and advised many All Star teams during her lifetime. Her devotion and motivation to teaching young people made her a valuable asset to the community. Her ideals are applied to this scholarship selection: leadership, community involvement, integrity, and personal growth. Open to current and former All Stars. 

NCS 4-H Council Scholarship

An invitation to graduating 4-H members in the California 4-H North Central Section. The North Central Section 4-H Council has budgeted $250 each for four (4) scholarships to be awarded to selected North Central Section 4-H members only. The counties from which members are eligible are: Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Marin, Napa, Sacramento, San Joaquin, San Mateo/San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, Yolo. A member may be awarded the scholarship once.

California State 4-H Scholarships

Applications must be submitted no later than June 1, 2015, 11:59 p.m. All required information must be included with the application to be considered.
