What is Stills Event?
Stills Event is an opportunity for all members in all projects an opportunity to exhibit, be evaluated and receive valuable feedback.
Schedule for the Day

8:30AM-9:00AM - Entries Received

9:00AM-11:30AM - Evaluating

12:00 - Award presented

Youth Participants

Instructions

  • Maximum 3 entries per person per category
  • Entries should have a loose connection to 4-H
  • All entries evaluated on Danish system
  • Best of Category awards (must achieve Blue to be considered for “Best of” awards)
  • Submit Baked goods with 4 or more of small baked items to demonstrate uniformity.  Baked goods and containers will NOT be returned
  • Photography exhibits require no special requirements. But presentation is a rubric category.
  • In 60-100 words tell why you built, made or choose it.  Include what it is, how it is made (steps), meaning or significance of it and how it relates to one of your projects.  Do NOT include name or club.  Include this paragraph with your exhibit.  Primaries: paragraph optional!

Categories

  • Baked Goods: Single items (cakes, pies, etc.)
  • Baked Goods: Batches (cookies, cupcakes, etc.)
  • Baked Goods: Other (creative somethings)
  • Crafts (something decorative made by hand: jewelry, pottery, ceramics included here along with mixed media crafts)
  • Creative writing (limit to projects two pages or less - 4-H story, newsletter article, etc.)
  • Drawing (graphite, pastels, color, etc.)
  • Legos: Kit
  • Legos: Freebuild
  • Mixed Media Art (where two or more mediums are used to create art: such as pencil, paint and ink together, or 3D art, some mosaics, etc.)
  • Needle Craft
  • Painting (watercolor, acrylics, water based, oils, etc.)
  • Photography: 4-H Themed, Agricultural, Animals, Landscape, Portrait, Still, Other
  • Quilting
  • Raw Fleece
  • Robotics
  • Rocketry
  • Record Keeping Projects (scrapbooking, genealogy, expression pages, resume, etc.)
  • Sewing (not wearable by the maker)
  • Woodworking
  • Yarn Arts (knitting, crocheting, weaving, latch hook, macramé, weaving, etc.)
Adult Participants

Instructions

  • Maximum one entry per Adult any category
  • One prize for Best of Adult Exhibits! Who will take it home???
  • Adults will be evaluated by youth members ONLY
  • ALL youth members will be encouraged to evaluate.  Evaluation rubrics will match the category the item is entered under.  But ONE prize will be given for the best Exhibit (all rubrics use the same base points)
  • Presentation of exhibit's will follow same guidelines as Fair with addition of a paragraph
