Stills Event

What is Stills Event?
Stills Event is an opportunity for all members in all projects to exhibit, be evaluated, receive recognition and awards, and receive valuable feedback for things that they have made in their projects.

9:30AM-10:00AM - Registration / Entries Received

10:00AM-11:30AM - Evaluating

12:00PM-1:00PM - Awards presented

Youth Participants

Instructions

  • Maximum 1 entry per person per category
  • Maximum 4 entries per person total all categories
  • Entries should have a loose connection to 4-H
  • All entries evaluated on Danish system
  • Best of Category awards (must achieve Blue to be considered for “Best of” awards)
  • Submit Baked goods with 4 or more of small baked items to demonstrate uniformity.  Baked goods and containers will NOT be returned
  • Photography exhibits require no special requirements. But presentation is a rubric criteria
  • Each entry exhibit should include a written paragraph that describes in 60-100 words why the participant built, made or chose it.  The paragraph should include what it is, how it is made (steps), meaning or significance of it and how it relates to one of your projects.  Do NOT include member name or club.  The paragraph is optional for primaries.
  • See the Stills Event Guidebook for more information about the categories and evaluation rubric criteria.  Register for the category with the rubric criteria that you want your entry to be evaluated against.

  • Baked Goods: Single items (cakes, pies, etc.) or Batches (cookies, cupcakes, etc.)
  • Crafts
  • Creative writing (limit to projects two pages or less)
  • Drawing
  • Legos: Freebuild / My Own Creation
  • Legos: Set Build
  • Mixed Media Art
  • Needlecraft
  • Painting
  • Photography
  • Quilting
  • Raw Fleece - Depending on if we find a qualified evaluator
  • Rocketry
  • Record Keeping Projects
  • Sewing (not wearable by the maker)
  • Woodworking
  • Yarn Arts
Adult Participants

Instructions

  • Maximum one entry per Adult any category
  • One prize for Best of Adult Exhibits! Who will take it home???
  • Adults will be evaluated by youth members ONLY
  • ALL youth members will be encouraged to evaluate.  
  • Evaluation rubrics will match the category the item is entered under.  But ONE prize will be given for the best Exhibit (all rubrics use the same base points)
