Scholarships
There are many scholarship opportunities available to 4-H members! These include financial assistance for attending 4-H events and conferences, for recognition of outstanding members, and for higher education. The table below summarizes the scholarships available though Contra Costa County 4-H and California 4-H State levels.
4-H Event / Conference Fee Waiver Request
County Council will pay up to 50% of event / conference fees for those members requesting financial assistance.
Details and Application
Due Date: submit application to County 4-H Council Secretary at least 2 weeks before the event.
Contra Costa County 4-H Scholarship
Contra Costa County 4-H Scholarship was created by the County Incentives & Recognition Committee (CIRC) and a scholarship will be awarded to applicants who have excelled in leadership, community service and the mentoring of younger 4-H members.
Amount: Up to $500
Who can apply:
- You must be a 4-H member in good standing
- Currently a senior in Contra Costa County school districts
- Applicant is planning to attend a vocation school, community college or university after completing high school

Joel Hanson Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of this $250 scholarship is to award a 4-H member from age 9 to 19, that demonstrates the attributes that made Joel such an exceptional young man.
Nomination Form
Due Date: Each club in the county will have one (1) vote to be cast by secret ballot by June 1st of each year. Award will be announced at Achievement Night.
Randy Stacy Memorial Scholarship
The Randy Stacy Memorial Scholarship was created by the Stacy Family in memory of their son, Randy Stacy, an outstanding 4-H youth who excelled in both leadership and the mentoring of younger 4-H members.
AMOUNT: $2,000.00 is available each year to be awarded to one or more applicants.
WHO CAN APPLY:
Senior students in the Antioch or Liberty High School Districts who are a current 4-H member in good standing and planning to attend a vocational school, community college or university after completing high school.

Natalie Hiatt Memorial Scholarship
The Natalie Hiatt Memorial Scholarship was created by the Hiatt Family in memory of their daughter, Natalie Hiatt.
